Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires Makes Its Digital Debut on HBO Max

The full-length animated film Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires has officially premiered on the streaming service HBO Max.
The animated movie's plot follows a young Aztec man, Yohualli Coatl, whose chieftain father is brutally murdered by Spanish conquistadors. Seeking refuge in Tenochtitlan, the hero draws inspiration from the bat god Cinacatl, forging obsidian armor and weapons to protect his civilization from the formidable Hernán Cortés (an analogue to Two-Face) and the deranged priest Yoka (an analogue to the Joker).
The film was directed by Juan Jose Meza-Leon, known for his work on animated series such as Rick and Morty, the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Harley Quinn. The screenplay was penned by Ernie Altbacker, who contributed to the creation of animated shows like the 1994 Spider-Man and Extreme Ghostbusters. The movie originally hit theaters on September 18th.
In related animation news, a new poster for the third season of the anime series DanDaDan was recently released. Prior to that, the second season of the popular anime Chainsaw Man was announced with a debut trailer and poster.
