The new Star Wars starring Ryan Gosling will be made based on the experience gained during the filming of the TV series Stranger Things
The new movie Star Wars: Starfighter starring Ryan Gosling will draw on the experience of the series Stranger Things in some places. This was stated by the director of the upcoming film Shawn Levy.
Shawn Levy is known not only for the recent hit Deadpool & Wolverine. He was also an executive producer and often directed the TV series Stranger Things, and in the first season he played a cameo role as a morgue attendant.
The director shared that Starfighter should be as epic and profound as the Netflix series.
Shawn Levy also emphasized that he learned a lot on the set of Stranger Things.
"If I’ve learned anything on Stranger Things, it’s that you can get intimidated by the scale of franchise expectation. But you will lose your way if that’s your focus. I’ve learned the need to stay rooted in character, and themes and relationships on screen".
The director emphasized that the new Star Wars film will have a scale that he has not achieved in his entire career. At the same time, the plot there is still built around the stories of specific characters.
"I think that if I can balance the epic and the intimate the way the Duffers have with Stranger Things, I’ll make a movie and an original and new Star Wars adventure that can be really satisfying to fans and audiences".
Recall that the filming of Starfighter has already been completed. Earlier it became known that the release will take place in 2027.
