Report: Sebastian Stan to Play Harvey Dent in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II

Actor Sebastian Stan, best known for his role as Bucky Barnes / the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has joined the cast of The Batman: Part II. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stan will portray Harvey Dent, marking one of the most notable new additions to Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel.
As Variety reports, production on the long-awaited follow-up is expected to begin in spring 2026, with Warner Bros. planning a theatrical release in October 2027. The first Batman film, released in March 2022, grossed $772 million worldwide.
Stan’s casting further elevates an already star-studded lineup. It was recently revealed that Scarlett Johansson, his former MCU co-star, has also joined the project. According to reports, she may play Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife — a character who could play a central role in the film’s emotional arc.
Returning cast members include Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis, with Barry Keoghan expected to reprise his brief but memorable role as the Joker.
