Japanese studio TOHO has unveiled a new poster for Godzilla Minus Zero and confirmed the film’s global release window. The movie will once again be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who previously helmed Godzilla Minus One.

Premiere dates

  • The film will hit theaters in Japan on November 3, 2026.
  • The international release is set for November 6, 2026.

Godzilla Minus Zero serves as a direct follow-up to the hit Godzilla Minus One, continuing the long-running Japanese saga about the King of the Monsters. TOHO’s press materials confirm that Takashi Yamazaki is returning to take on three major roles on the project: director, writer, and visual effects supervisor, just as he did on the previous film, which has been praised as one of the most ambitious and successful Japanese takes on the iconic kaiju.

Notably, Godzilla Minus One was the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan and was released to mark the franchise’s 70th anniversary. The movie grossed 116 million USD worldwide against a budget of just 12 million USD, securing a strong financial success.

Recently, fans also got a first look at a new Godzilla anime series, which will follow a young boy who gains the powers of the legendary kaiju.
