First Look: Amazon Reveals Kratos and Atreus in God of War Live-Action Series

Amazon has released the first official image from its upcoming God of War live-action series, offering a first glimpse of Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) as Kratos and Callum Vinson (Chucky) as his son, Atreus.
The series will adapt the critically acclaimed 2018 reboot and its sequel, God of War: Ragnarok. The story follows Kratos and Atreus as they embark on an epic journey to fulfill the final wish of Kratos’ late wife, Faye: spreading her ashes from the highest peak in all the realms. Along the way, Kratos struggles to teach his son what it means to be a god, while Atreus helps his father rediscover what it means to be human.
The production boasts a star-studded cast, with Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) set to play Odin, Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, and Alastair Duncan reprising his role from the games as Mimir. The iconic dwarven brothers, Sindri and Brok, will be portrayed by Jeff Gulka and Danny Woodburn, respectively.
Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind) serves as showrunner and writer for the project. Emmy winner Frederick E.O. Toye (Shōgun) is set to direct the first two episodes. The series is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
