Homelander vs Butcher: Final ‘The Boys’ Posters Set the Tone for the Last Season — Trailer Tomorrow

Amazon Prime has released two posters for the fifth — and final — season of The Boys, and they say everything without a single word. The premiere is set for April, with the first trailer arriving tomorrow.

In the first poster, Homelander stands at the center with a messianic pose, arms outstretched, with the entire Seven behind him. In the second, Butcher and his team appear in front of the smoking ruins of Vought Tower. Two posters, two factions, one final showdown.

The fifth season will conclude the long-running conflict between humans and supes. According to showrunner Eric Kripke, the final chapter will be “super massive and apocalyptic” — and no character is guaranteed to survive. Butcher is preparing a biological virus capable of wiping out everyone with superpowers, while Homelander revels in absolute power, turning the country into his personal dictatorship.

The core cast returns: Karl Urban as Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, and Antony Starr as Homelander. Another highlight is the reunion of Supernatural stars: Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, joined by Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in new roles. All three come from Kripke’s earlier universe — and the showrunner clearly saved this reunion for the finale.

The season premieres April 8, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. Two episodes will drop on launch day, with the remaining six releasing weekly through May 20. And tomorrow, Amazon promises the first full trailer.
