New Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Set for March 10

Nintendo has confirmed a Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct for next week, featuring the world premiere of the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The presentation is scheduled to kick off on March 9 at 2:00 PM PT.

Alongside the announcement, the company shared a brand-new poster for the sequel, confirming the return of some "deep cut" villains from the franchise's past. Spotted at the bottom of the art are Mouser and Wart—both of whom debuted in 1988’s Super Mario Bros. 2 and have been largely absent from the series ever since. This follows a January trailer that already teased other SMB2 staples like Birdo, as well as Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, who only appeared in flashbacks in the first film.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is slated for a global release on April 1, 2026. The sequel sees the return of directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with a screenplay by Matthew Fogel and a score composed by Brian Tyler.

Do you think the sequel has what it takes to clear $1 billion at the global box office?
