Scream 7 broke the box office and became the highest-grossing in the franchise, but The Bride turned into a problem for Warner Bros

Scream 7 has surpassed the $176 million box office worldwide. The film officially became the highest-grossing part of the franchise. But another horror film, The Bride! by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is doing much worse, Variety reports.

Scream 7 completes its third weekend on big screens. The film grossed $8.3 million in theaters. Mixed reviews did not prevent the film from achieving a total box office of $107 million in the United States and $176.9 million worldwide.

In terms of fees, Scream 7 overtook the original 1996 film, which had $173 million, and its 1997 sequel, which earned the authors $172 million. However, it must be borne in mind that these figures do not take into account inflation.

But the romantic horror film The Bride, a reinterpretation of the classic 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein, failed at the box office. The film grossed $2.1 million in its second weekend. Ticket sales dropped by 70% compared to the debut.

The Bride's collections reached $11.3 million in the United States and $21 million worldwide. This could be a serious problem for Warner Bros., as they spent $90 million shooting the film, and another $65 million on promotion.

By the way, the director of the movie Scream 7 Kevin Williamson recently announced that he would not shoot the next film in the franchise. In an interview, he shared that he wants to switch to his own projects.
