Avatar: Fire and Ash is coming to digital very soon!
Avatar: Fire and Ash will arrive on digital platforms on March 31.
The story of Fire and Ash begins immediately after the events of the previous film. While the Sully family mourns their son, Colonel Miles Quaritch joins forces with Varang, leader of the Ash People — a hostile Na’vi clan that hunts its own kind and seeks to destroy Eywa.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, and others.
Avatar: Fire and Ash became the first film in the franchise to gross less than $2 billion at the box office. It earned “only” $1.48 billion worldwide — the 17th highest total in history. Audiences responded well to the movie: it holds a 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while critics gave it a 61 out of 100 on Metacritic.
Despite the relatively modest box office by the franchise’s standards, Cameron is still working on the fourth and fifth Avatar films. However, according to media reports, Disney is demanding that production costs on the next Avatar movies be reduced. The director himself has also backed Paramount in its battle over Warner Bros. Discovery, warning of the destructive consequences of a possible deal with Netflix.
