The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set a new record, becoming the first in film industry history to surpass one billion views. According to analytics firm WaveMetrix, the combined view count across various platforms has reached approximately 1.1 billion.

Sony released the trailer on March 18, and it saw explosive growth right from launch. In the first eight hours, it racked up around 373 million views, and by the end of the first 24 hours, it had hit 718.6 million—a new all-time record for any trailer, whether for games or movies.

The previous 24-hour record for a film trailer belonged to Deadpool & Wolverine, which amassed about 365 million views in its first day. Among all video releases—including games—the previous leader was the GTA 6 trailer, with roughly 475 million views in 24 hours.

The new Spider-Man trailer also outperformed previous entries in the franchise, including No Way Home, whose trailer once held the movie record with around 355 million views in a single day.

The movie is slated to premiere on July 31, 2026. Fans have responded very positively to the debut trailer, especially praising its darker tone.
