James Cameron will still be filming new parts of Avatar, and they want to start working on them soon

There is less and less doubt that fans of Avatar are waiting for the fourth and fifth films. Executive producer Rae Sanchini revealed in a recent interview that work on a sequel to the franchise is expected to begin soon.

Avatar: Fire and Ash was released in theaters on December 19, 2025. The film grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, which is a large money, but it is much less than the results of the first two parts.

Against this background, many had doubts about the future of the franchise. James Cameron stated that he was not sure if the fourth and fifth parts would be released. However, even if they do, the director will need to figure out how to make films at the lowest cost.

Rae Sanchini's comment sounds much more optimistic. She noted that it takes a lot of time to work on such large-scale films, so you need to start shooting soon.

By the way, two upcoming films are on the Disney release calendar. According to the plans, the fourth part will be released in 2029, and the fifth in 2031. However, such deadlines should be treated with some distrust, because when working on large-scale projects, postponements often occur.

In the meantime, the new parts are still far away, you can watch Avatar: Fire and Ash at home. The film received a digital release the day before, on March 31.
