The Boys Star Karl Urban Wants to Star in a Red Dead Redemption Adaptation — He’s Already Chosen His Dream Role
Karl Urban, known to audiences for his work on The Boys, as well as roles in The Lord of the Rings and Star Trek, has shared his interest in a potential adaptation of Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption. In a recent interview, Urban revealed that he’d love to portray one of the series’ most iconic characters — John Marston.
Speaking with Square Mile, the actor admitted he’s a fan of Red Dead Redemption, even though his busy schedule has kept him from fully diving into video games. Still, the project left a lasting impression on him thanks to its Wild West atmosphere and emotional storytelling.
The standout moment of the interview came when Urban made his intentions clear: “I mean, come on, John Marston! I’d love to play that character.”
John Marston is the central figure of the original Red Dead Redemption and a key character in Red Dead Redemption 2, known for his compelling story as a former outlaw trying to leave his past behind.
Interest in the franchise among actors is quite high. Previously, Jack Black confessed that he “basically lived” in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Red Dead Redemption 2 may soon receive a patch adding full support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Do you think Karl Urban would be a good fit for the role of John Marston?
