“I’d give anything” — The Boys star is begging Netflix to cast him in the BioShock movie

The Boys star Jack Quaid has once again declared his love for BioShock and said he would give anything to appear in Netflix’s adaptation of the game.

In a new interview with Collider tied to the release of the final season of The Boys, the actor said that the original BioShock holds a special place in his heart, and that he is ready to do anything to appear in the adaptation. This is not the first time Quaid has spoken about his love for Ken Levine’s project. Back in 2025, answering a fan question, Quaid said that BioShock is one of his favorite games of all time and that, thanks to its rich lore, it is “perfect for a TV or film adaptation.”

The rights to the BioShock adaptation currently belong to Netflix, and the project is officially in development. Francis Lawrence, best known for his work on The Hunger Games franchise, is attached to direct. According to the latest reports, production on the film is not expected to begin before 2027.

Producer Roy Lee confirmed that the delay is due to the director’s packed schedule, as Lawrence is busy with post-production on The Hunger Games prequel through September. Netflix and Take-Two Interactive reportedly plan to time the movie’s release to coincide with the launch of a new entry in the game series, though no further details have been revealed.

Interestingly, Quaid’s The Boys co-star Karl Urban is also deeply interested in video game adaptations. On May 6, he will appear as the charismatic Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, and the actor has also said he dreams of playing John Marston in a Red Dead Redemption adaptation. Earlier, Gore Verbinski also revealed what his BioShock adaptation could have been like.
