Filming of the Elden Ring movie has started in London — see the first photos from the set
Filming of the long-awaited film based on Elden Ring has begun in London. Dozens of actors and crew members are already recreating atmospheric scenes on a foggy medieval street. Footage from the set was published by Shortlist.
The fantasy epic is being handled by studio A24. So far, filming is taking place at the Royal Naval College in London. Director and screenwriter Alex Garland has already been spotted on the set.
Nearby, they noticed extras in medieval costumes. The surrounding area was filled with smoke to create an atmosphere of foggy and mysterious streets.
Despite the large number of actors and large-scale decorations, the green screen is also used. This is probably how the authors expand the space to make the location look even bigger.
In some shots, you can also see a market or a town square with many peasants and armed soldiers.
Another interesting thing was found among other props. This crossbar, similar to a gallows, is very similar to the similar structure on which Dung Eater hangs in the game.
By the way, it was announced this week that the film will be released in theaters on March 3, 2028. Bandai Namco game studio is also involved in the work on the film.
Studio A24 has confirmed the cast. The film stars Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz and Nick Offerman.
