Getting closer to the finale: when will the 5th season of Invincible be released, and what will it be about?
Today, on April 22, the film episode of the fourth season of the animated series Invincible is released. Judging by the scale of what is happening, Mark is unlikely to be able to rest in the future. Against this background, GamesRadar has revealed the main details of the next season.
The main question is when viewers will be able to see the return of the Invincible. Amazon has already approved the production of the fifth season. If everything goes according to plan, new episodes may start airing in 2027. Most likely in February or March.
The tradition of releasing one season per year has been held almost from the very beginning of the series. Moreover, the author of the project, Robert Kirkman, said that he had set a goal for himself — to arrange releases around February of each year.
If we talk about the plot, then everything is more complicated here. Watch out for further spoilers.
At the end of the fourth season, Allen was tasked with using the virus to destroy all the Vitrumites. If the authors of the series follow the comics, then this may become the main theme of the new season. There is also an open question about the fate of the Robot and Amanda, who may return from another dimension and seriously affect the plot.
There are also personal questions of the characters. For example, Eva may have to terminate her pregnancy while Mark is fighting in space. Nolan and Debbie may be brought closer by Oliver's injury, but that doesn't mean they'll be able to rebuild their relationship.
The dinosaur, voiced by Matthew Rhys, may become one of the key villains in the fifth season. The rest of the voice actors are also planning to return to their roles.
As a rule, Prime Video publishes trailers or teasers four to five months before the release of the new season. Therefore, there is a high probability of learning new details this year.
It is almost certain that the fifth season of Invincible will not be the final one. Robert Kirkman previously said that it would take about eight seasons to complete the story. However, things can change. Anyway, the second half of the series is already beginning, so in future seasons there may be hints of the end of the story arcs.
It is worth noting that many viewers liked the fourth season because of the epic nature of what is happening. However, viewers are increasingly having questions about the quality of animation. In one of the last episodes, the authors outdid themselves by making Mark the face of his father.
