Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic adaptation of Homer's legendary ancient Greek poem.
The film follows Odysseus, the legendary king of Ithaca, portrayed by Matt Damon, as he embarks on a long and perilous journey home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters mythical creatures and figures including the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the nymph Calypso while striving to reunite with his wife, Penelope.
In addition to Damon, the star-studded cast includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Samantha Morton, Elliot Page, and more.
Nolan wrote and directed the film, while production duties were shared between the filmmaker and Emma Thomas. The score was composed by Ludwig Göransson, who previously collaborated with Nolan on Oppenheimer.
The Odyssey is reportedly the most expensive film of Nolan's career, with an estimated budget of around $250 million. It is also the first feature film shot entirely using IMAX 70mm cameras.
The movie is set to premiere worldwide on July 17, 2026.
