Apple TV+ Unveils Teaser for Neuromancer Series Adaptation — Cyberpunk Classic Comes to the Screen

William Gibson's iconic cyberpunk novel Neuromancer is coming to the screen, as Apple TV+ has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming series adaptation. The teaser coincides with the 42nd anniversary of the book, which was first published on July 1, 1984.

Opening with the novel's legendary first line — "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel" — the teaser immediately sets a moody, atmospheric tone that pays homage to the source material's influence on the cyberpunk genre.

The Neuromancer series will span ten episodes and stars Callum Turner and Briana Middleton in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Dane DeHaan, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Emma Laird, Joseph Lee, and Clémence Poésy, assembling a diverse ensemble for the adaptation.

Showrunners Graham Roland and J.D. Dillard are leading the production, which is a collaboration between Apple Studios, Skydance Television, Anonymous Content, and DreamCrew Entertainment. Filming began on July 2, 2025, following the project's official announcement in early 2024.

The plot follows hacker Case and mercenary Molly as they take on a high-stakes mission against a powerful corporate dynasty, aiming to capture the cybercrime-driven world and spirit that made Gibson's novel a genre-defining classic.

While an exact release date has not been announced, the series is slated to premiere in fall 2026. Neuromancer has long been considered a challenging work to adapt, with previous attempts failing to reach production. Now, with the Apple TV+ series nearing completion, excitement is building among fans of cyberpunk and science fiction.
