Christopher Nolan Says His Next Film Will Arrive at Least Three Years After The Odyssey
In a TODAY interview, Christopher Nolan said the gap before his next film could stretch beyond three years.
Nolan also said production on The Odyssey pushed him and the crew to the limits of their stamina.
I definitely hit the limits of my own stamina and everybody's stamina, I think. I mean, it's "The Odyssey," of course it should be difficult.
He said that difficulty was part of the point, not a problem to be solved around. Nolan explained that if an adaptation of The Odyssey does not feel hard to make, then the team is doing it wrong. He also said he wanted viewers to feel as if they were inside the Cyclops cave or standing on Odysseus' ship.
Nolan has also stressed the scale of the production itself. The film was shot with large sets and IMAX cameras, and it is the first Hollywood production filmed entirely on IMAX 70 millimeter film. The cast includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and Tom Holland.
Previously, we covered how critics rated The Odyssey. We also published a breakdown article explaining the film's plot and ending.
Are you surprised Nolan is already talking about a possible three-year wait for his next film?
