Empire Shares First Look at Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3
Empire magazine has unveiled the first official look at Gandalf from the upcoming third season of the fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Following two seasons of operating as the nameless "Stranger," the iconic character has finally secured his signature pointed hat and wooden staff. Speaking with Empire, actor Daniel Weyman teased that while fans will see familiar shades of the classic Gandalf, the wizard's journey toward wisdom will still be paved with some serious missteps.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is Amazon Prime Video's flagship fantasy epic based on the appendices of J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, exploring the events of Middle-earth's Second Age. Currently holding the title of the most expensive television series in history, its total production budget exceeds $1 billion. Showrunners Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne mapped out a five-season arc from the start. Production initially kicked off in New Zealand for Season 1 before permanently shifting to the UK for subsequent seasons.
In case you missed it, Anya Taylor-Joy was recently confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
