The summer blockbuster season continues. Following the triumphant launch of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," a new installment in the Spider-Man franchise — "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" — has burst onto the big screen. Critics predict the film will gross over $1 billion and become one of the most successful projects of the year. We've gathered all the latest information about "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" for you — official details about the cast and plot, as well as interesting facts and information on where and when to watch it.

About the Plot without spoilers

Spider-Man has been absent from the big screen for five years, ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home. Brand New Day is set to launch a brand-new trilogy centered on Peter Parker. Before it came Sam Raimi's trilogy (2002–2007) starring Tobey Maguire, Marc Webb's two-film series (2012–2014) with Andrew Garfield, and Jon Watts' trilogy (2017–2021) featuring Tom Holland.

The story takes place four years after the events of No Way Home, in which Doctor Strange not only restored Spider-Man's secret identity but also erased Peter Parker from the memories of everyone he cared about. Now Peter has to start over from scratch. With no money, no friends, and barely scraping by, he finds himself at rock bottom. As Spider-Man, however, he must once again protect New York City from a new threat. A mysterious character with telepathic abilities appears in the city, and Peter will have to turn to the Hulk and the Punisher for help in confronting him. At the same time, the immense psychological strain causes Peter's powers to undergo a dangerous evolution.

Cast

Brand New Day marks Tom Holland's fourth solo outing as Spider-Man. In one interview, Holland described the film as a unique and deeply personal superhero story that explores Peter Parker's journey into adulthood. Zendaya returns as MJ, while Jacob Batalon reprises his role as Ned Leeds.

Jon Bernthal joins the Spider-Man franchise as the Punisher for the first time, while Mark Ruffalo returns as the Hulk. Crime boss Tombstone, will be played by Marvin Jones III, Elena Belova has been played by Florence Pugh. Michael Mando reprises his role as Scorpion, and Liza Colón-Zayas has been cast as Jean DeWolff, one of Spider-Man's allies. The role of Sadie Sink was kept under wraps for a long time, but it has already become known who she will play: Jean Grey (we wrote about this in more detail in the news from the film's US premiere).

The film — and potentially the entire upcoming trilogy — is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
