Spider-Man: Brand New Day Officially Beats Avengers: Endgame to Set Historic U.S. Box Office Record
Media outlets have published the final box office figures for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, confirming that the film has officially set a new all-time domestic opening weekend record.
After the final tally, the Marvel blockbuster earned $360 million in the U.S. and Canada during its first three days, surpassing the previous record holder, Avengers: Endgame, which debuted with $357.1 million back in 2019. As a result, Brand New Day now holds the biggest opening weekend in North American box office history.
The movie's worldwide opening also increased after the updated figures were released, climbing from the initially reported $875 million to $932 million. Even so, it remains the second-biggest global opening of all time, behind Avengers: Endgame, which launched with $1.22 billion.
In addition, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the biggest opening weekend of Tom Holland's, Destin Daniel Cretton's, and Zendaya's careers. It also stands as the highest-grossing debut ever for both the Spider-Man franchise and Sony Pictures.
