Spider-Man: Brand New Day Screening Evacuated After Hulk-Sized Fart
A Spider-Man: Brand New Day screening in Cartagena, Colombia, got a bizarre extra twist on August 2 when an overpowering stench spread through the theater at the Cine Colombia multiplex in the Plaza Bocagrande shopping center. Footage showed some audience members covering their faces as they hurried out of the auditorium.
Dozens of moviegoers reportedly left before the film ended, but the screening was not officially canceled. The cinema's other screenings continued as normal, and no injuries were reported.
The identity of the suspected source of the smell remains unknown. There was also speculation that someone may have set off a stink bomb as a prank, but neither explanation has been confirmed.
What made the scene even stranger was the response in the hallway. A Spider-Man performer in costume came out to calm and entertain the audience, turning the awkward aftermath into a brief bit of live entertainment for the people who had just escaped the smell.
Reactions online were predictably blunt. One moviegoer summed it up this way:
To ruin a whole cinema like that, only God knows what that person ate.
Would you have stayed in your seat, or left the Spider-Man screening as soon as the smell hit?
