The new trailer for Star Wars: Visions Presents — The Ninth Jedi puts Kara and her father, Juro, at the center of the story as the series heads toward its August 5 debut on Disney+ and Hulu. Disney and Lucasfilm released the preview on August 4, and the anime miniseries will run for eight episodes.

The Ninth Jedi continues the Star Wars: Visions anthology, with its story taking place after the Child of Hope episode from the anthology's third season. It is also the first project in the new Star Wars: Visions Presents line, making it a fresh entry point within the broader Visions label.

The story centers on Kara, the daughter of Juro, a lightsaber smith trying to restore the vanished Jedi Order. Kara sets out to find her kidnapped father and continue his work, while the trailer makes it clear that family legacy will matter as much as the larger conflict.

The trailer also delivers a blunt line that sums up the scale of the setup:

To save the galaxy, a new Order must be founded.

For a miniseries Disney has already framed as a one-season story, that sounds less like a tease and more like a final statement about where this chapter is headed.

That framing makes The Ninth Jedi stand out even within Visions. With eight episodes and no second season planned, Lucasfilm appears to be treating Kara and Juro's story as a self-contained arc rather than a springboard for something longer.

Are you more interested in a one-season Star Wars story, or would you rather see The Ninth Jedi continue after this run?
