The Witcher's final season is delayed to 2027

The Witcher's fifth and final season is already deep into post-production, but the series will not wrap until 2027. Netflix has not announced an exact release date, so fans still do not know when the story will end.

Filming for season 5 finished in September 2025, but the show has already spent more than a year in post-production. According to the report, the delay may be connected to that long post-production stage, which includes work on visual effects and fight scenes.

The same report says Netflix may also have pushed the season back because its release schedule is crowded. In January 2026, the plan was still to release season 5 that year, so the change appears to be a relatively recent shift.

Netflix has not publicly commented on the reported delay. The move comes as the service already has new seasons of 3 Body Problem, Lupin, and The Gentlemen lined up for the fall, which may have left less room for The Witcher finale.
