Toy Story 5 Digital Release Date Announced
Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5 is set to land on digital platforms on August 18, with a physical home media release scheduled slightly later for September 22, 2026.
The digital launch comes just 60 days after the film's global theatrical premiere. The animated feature has already raked in over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office, officially making it the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.
The plot centers on a modern-day clash between classic childhood playtime and modern electronics, with Jessie taking center stage as the main protagonist instead of Woody. An older Bonnie receives a "Lilypad" interactive kid's tablet as a gift, quickly growing addicted to the screen and completely neglecting Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of her old crew.
Earlier, it was reported that Disney had laid off hundreds of Pixar employees, despite the massive box office success of Toy Story 5. Prior to that, we covered how critics rated the animated film.
