Peacock Officially Greenlights Fast and the Furious TV Series

Streaming service Peacock has officially greenlit a television series based on the Fast and the Furious franchise.

Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are attached to write and serve as co-showrunners for the project, which was first announced back in May at the NBCUniversal Upfront event. At the time, it was reported that up to four different TV shows set within the Fast and the Furious universe were in active development, but this particular project from Universal Television was the only one making significant headway. Peacock intended to evaluate all four concepts before moving forward with production, and now, one of those pitches has officially received the go-ahead.

Vin Diesel is set to executive produce the series. He will be joined by a producing team that includes Sam Vincent, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan. The series is currently slated for a 2028 premiere.

This follows previous reports revealing when production is scheduled to begin on the upcoming film Fast Forever.
