The first trailer for Transformers One, an animated film about the friendship of Optimus Prime and Megatron

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for the animated film Transformers One. According to the creators, it will tell the «untold» origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who were once friends.

The trailer focuses on the plot setup of the film. Once, the heroes, being simple workers, decide to escape to the surface of Cybertron. There they first acquire the ability to transform and encounter a heap of new problems.

The director is Josh Cooley, who directed Toy Story 4. The main characters are voiced by Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

The theatrical premiere is set for September 20th.
