IGN has confirmed the development of remakes for Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil Code: Veronica. This was first reported by insider Dusk Golem.

Unfortunately, journalists have no details other than that Zero and Code: Veronica are the next remakes in the franchise. Apparently, the reimagining of the fifth part, which journalists were so worried about, is not expected in the near future.

Resident Evil Zero is a prequel to the first part, released in 2002 on the Nintendo GameCube. The game tells the story of medic Rebecca Chambers and former Marine Billy Coen, investigating a series of murders in the suburbs of Raccoon City. The Metacritic score is 83.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica is the fourth part of the main series, released in 2000. The events of the game take place three months after the destruction of Raccoon City. The main characters are Claire and Chris Redfield, trying to survive on a prison island during another outbreak. The game received a score of 94 on Metacritic.

Dusk Golem also claimed that Resident Evil 9 is unlikely to be announced this year, and the release has been postponed to 2026. IGN journalists did not confirm this information.
