Bloodborne Reimagined as a Top-Down Action Game in Diablo's Style
Maxime Foulquier, who once worked on the Bloodborne remake, has halted the project. The idea of reimagining the «soulslike» game proved to be too ambitious, and years of work would likely end in a conversation with Sony's lawyers. Therefore, the enthusiast decided to start a new project.
Now, Foulquier is working on Bloodborne Top Down Arena — an isometric «Diablo-like» game about a Yharnam hunter. In the small excerpt below, you can see the hero fighting waves of enemies using a saw cleaver and a pistol.
Judging by the name of the game, the author does not plan to recreate all the locations and will limit himself to a few arenas. Perhaps in the future, Foulquier might want to change the name to avoid attracting the attention of the rights holder. At least for the creators of Nightmare Kart, formerly known as Bloodborne Kart, this strategy helped.
Officially, Bloodborne is only available on PS4 and PS5 through backward compatibility. However, recently enthusiasts have ported the cult game to PC using a new emulator called shadPS4.
