The iPhone 15 was the Best-Selling Smartphone of 2024

By the end of 2024, Apple once again cemented its dominance in the smartphone market, securing seven spots in the ranking of the most popular models. According to a Canalys report, the iPhone 15 was the best-selling device of the year, with 36.6 million units sold, accounting for 3% of total smartphone shipments.
Beyond the iPhone 15, other Apple devices also saw strong sales. The iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max took second and third place, reinforcing the growing demand for premium models. The Samsung Galaxy A15 made it into the top five, followed by the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.
Samsung was the only other brand besides Apple to have multiple models in the top 10. In addition to the Galaxy A15, its 5G variant ranked eighth, while the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra secured ninth place. Rounding out the list was the iPhone 13, which, despite launching three years ago, remained popular thanks to its relevance and steady demand.
Analysts highlight the rising interest in flagship smartphones: five of the ten best-selling devices in 2024 belonged to the premium segment. This trend indicates that consumers are willing to invest in more advanced models with improved features, even in the face of economic uncertainty.
