Following Warner Bros.’ official announcement of the first cast members for the upcoming Harry Potter series, actors Paapa Essiedu and Nick Frost took to social media to share their excitement about stepping into the roles of Severus Snape and Rubeus Hagrid, respectively.
Nick Frost posted a photo holding one of the original books and promised not to let down Robbie Coltrane, who famously portrayed Hagrid in the films. Paapa Essiedu thanked his fellow cast members and vowed to give it everything.

The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch. Warner Bros. has yet to announce who will play Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Filming for the first season is set to begin this summer, with the premiere scheduled for 2027.
