'Single-Player MMORPG' with Massive World, Raids, and Fake Players Launches on Steam

A one-man indie studio, Burgee Media, has released Erenshor, a unique RPG that calls itself a “single-player MMORPG.” Despite appearing populated by hundreds of players, every character in the game is actually controlled by AI.

The developer aimed to capture the spirit of old-school MMORPGs. Players can expect a sprawling, hours-long adventure featuring stylized graphics reminiscent of World of Warcraft and RuneScape, a huge open world, raids, and plenty of loot.

Throughout the game, players encounter digital companions designed to mimic real human players. These NPCs level up on their own, trade, join guilds, hunt monsters, go on raids, and even send group invites.

Erenshor currently holds a 93% positive rating on Steam, with many reviewers calling it a love letter to classic MMORPGs like EverQuest.

The game is in early access and available for 17,55€ with a launch discount.
