Turns Out the New GTA 6 Trailer Includes a Subtle Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Egg

Yesterday, Rockstar dropped a ton of new GTA 6 content — the second trailer, new screenshots (featuring characters and Vice City locations), and fresh artwork. And of course, eagle-eyed fans have already spotted a subtle Red Dead Redemption 2 reference.

If you take a close look at the dollar bills shown in the trailer, you’ll spot two fictional presidents — Thaddeus W. Vaxman and Franklin D. Hardin. Both originally appeared on collectible cigarette cards in Red Dead Redemption 2.

This has sparked more fan theories about GTA and RDR sharing the same universe. Though, given the bills in GTA 6 are labeled “The United States of Paranoia,” it’s not entirely clear how deep the connection goes.

GTA 6 is set to release on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
