Chad Stahelski may finally be ready to unsheathe his swords. The John Wick filmmaker has shared an update on the long-gestating Highlander reboot, revealing that production could kick off as early as this September.
“If everything works out in the next 24 hours, we'll be shooting sometime in September,” Stahelski said. That timeline would likely place the film’s release sometime in 2027 or 2028.
Stahelski didn’t clarify what could still delay the shoot, though scheduling may be a factor — he’s also attached to John Wick 5 and a film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima.
The Highlander reboot, first announced in 2021, will star Henry Cavill in the lead role. The original 1986 cult classic was based on a story by Gregory Widen.
