Frogwares has surprise-released The Sinking City Remastered, an updated version of its Lovecraftian horror adventure. The remaster, first announced in late March, is now available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Players who own the original game can upgrade for free.
Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, The Sinking City follows a private detective who arrives in the half-submerged town of Oakmont, where the locals are gripped by madness. Players must uncover the mystery behind the city's descent into chaos.
The remaster runs on Unreal Engine 5 and brings major upgrades, including improved lighting and visuals, 4K textures, ray tracing, and support for FSR, DLSS, and frame generation. It also adds gameplay tweaks and a full photo mode.
Meanwhile, Frogwares is working on The Sinking City 2. You can watch gameplay from the sequel in this video.
