Andrzej Sapkowski still advising CD Projekt RED on The Witcher lore

To mark the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, PC Gamer published another celebratory interview — this time with CD Projekt RED co-head Adam Badowski. The main topic? Andrzej Sapkowski and his reputation as a perpetually grumpy author.
According to Badowski, the Witcher creator is actually a very pleasant person in real life — and he’s still actively involved with the studio as a lore consultant. That’s likely good news for fans anxious about the story direction of The Witcher 4.
He's a very intelligent guy, and as a writer, he created kind of a persona. In person, he's a great guy. Very knowledgeable. We are friends. I visit Andrzej regularly. We go for dinner, have great conversations.
As true fans of the books, we truly take care with the whole lore. We're updating everything, we are not making different, alternative paths… Everything is coherent. If it comes to responsibility, we feel responsibility for the whole heritage of Andrzej Sapkowski.
Badowski also confirmed that Sapkowski remains disinterested in video games and prefers to keep his literary universe separate from CD Projekt RED’s interpretation.
He was very clear about what is his area, [and] what is just licensed. He's all about the books. That's it. He doesn't play games.
He's a very smart person, so he knew everything about our game and about its success, but he tried not to comment on it… Those two worlds, in his opinion, should be disconnected.
CD Projekt RED recently revealed that The Witcher 3 originally had a cut quest involving the Wild Hunt.
