The State of Unreal 2025 livestream is underway, and its biggest guest is none other than The Witcher 4. CD Projekt RED brought a teaser and a technical demo showcasing the visual fidelity of the upcoming RPG.
The footage features a quest set in Kovir, where Ciri arrives in the bustling port city of Valdrest—currently plagued by a deadly manticore.
The demo highlights several next-gen technologies, including the Unreal Animation Framework for lifelike character movement in crowded scenes, FastGeo Streaming for seamless world loading, and Nanite Foliage to render highly detailed forests. Notably, the demo ran at 60 FPS on a base PlayStation 5.
CDPR also shared a few story tidbits: Ciri’s new companion is her horse, Kelpie, and one of the game’s major cities will be Lan Exeter.
