Gandalf makes an appearance in new Tales of the Shire trailer

Set to release on July 29, Tales of the Shire is a cozy life sim in the spirit of Animal Crossing, but set in the world of Hobbits and inspired by The Lord of the Rings. In the new gameplay video, developers showcase the wizard’s arrival as part of the story, hinting at deeper narrative elements behind the game’s peaceful surface.

The trailer also highlights customization features: players can decorate their own Hobbit hole with new wallpaper and furniture, tend gardens, and grow strawberries. But life in the Shire doesn’t stop there — activities like fishing and other relaxing pastimes will also be part of the experience.

Tales of the Shire launches on July 29, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
