Edward Kenway's Voice Actor Teases Assassin's Creed 4 Remake

If Tom Henderson’s reports weren’t enough, here’s another hint that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is on the way. Matt Ryan, the actor who voiced main character Edward Kenway, recently appeared at a fan convention — and heavily teased an upcoming announcement.
During a signing session, Ryan asked a fan if they had played Black Flag, then said, “Well, you may have to beat it again.” He followed up with a knowing smile and added, “There’s a reason I say, that but I can’t say anything.”
According to recent reports, the Black Flag remake is now slated for release in 2026. It was originally planned for 2025, but the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows reportedly pushed back Ubisoft’s entire release schedule.
Ubisoft has previously confirmed that another long-awaited project, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, is expected to launch before April 2026.
