Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Prequel Manga Unveils Kiwi Without Her Mask

A prequel manga to the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS, is set to launch in February 2026. The series will be published by Dark Horse Comics in collaboration with CD Projekt RED.
The story will focus on fan-favorite characters from the anime—Rebecca, her brother Pilar, and Kiwi. It will explore their youth and their journey to become legendary edgerunners like their father. As the characters come of age in the dark world of Night City, a mysterious figure enters their lives and changes everything.
The manga is expected to run for four issues. It’s written by Bartosz Sztybor, known for his work on Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout, with art by Asano, the illustrator behind BNA: Brand New Animal. This marks the first time Rebecca and Pilar will appear in comic book form. Fans have also noticed that Kiwi is depicted without her signature mask on the cover—hinting that the story may reveal her past, before she became the character we know from the anime.
A preview of the first volume will be showcased this summer at Anime Expo and San Diego Comic-Con. The official release date for volume one is February 24, 2026.
