Metacritic Reveals Top 20 Films of the First Half of 2025 — 'Sinners' Lands at No. 9

Metacritic has published its second major roundup for the first half of 2025. Following its list of the year’s best games so far, the review aggregator has now revealed its top-rated films released between January 1 and June 30.
To qualify, each film needed at least seven critic reviews. While many of the picks are on the indie side — the top spot went to the little-known drama Sorry, Baby — the list also includes some mainstream entries like Sinners at No. 9 and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl at No. 18.
