NVIDIA Adds DLSS 4 Support to Unreal Engine 5.6 Plugin

Arkadiy Andrienko

NVIDIA has released an updated plugin for Unreal Engine, bringing DLSS 4 support to the latest UE 5.6. The update streamlines how developers integrate AI-driven upscaling and frame generation techniques.

The new plugin unlocks the full suite of DLSS features, including:

  • Frame Generation
  • Ray Reconstruction
  • Super Resolution
  • DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing)
  • Multi-Frame Generation

The plugin works with Unreal Engine versions 5.2 up to the current 5.6. Support for older engine editions has officially ended. Crucially for players, which DLSS features are available depends directly on their NVIDIA GPU generation. Not all DLSS 4 features will work on older graphics cards.

NVIDIA’s first DLSS plugin for Unreal Engine 5 launched this past February. Unreal Engine 5.6 itself, the target for this update, was only officially released to developers last month. The updated plugin is available now for developers via NVIDIA and Epic Games resources.
