Last night, Sucker Punch gave fans a 20-minute look at Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits was quick to break down the footage and compare it to the original game.
According to the video, the sequel features noticeable upgrades in draw distance, lighting quality, and environmental detail. The protagonist's character model also looks significantly improved, although the gear and outfits seem to be on par with the first game.
The core gameplay structure remains familiar, but the heroine now has access to five main weapon types, which can be swapped on the fly to better suit different enemies. Platforming sections appear largely unchanged.
Customization options have been expanded, and the game introduces several new visual modes. Alongside the original’s "Kurosawa Mode," players can now choose "Takashi Miike Mode" for more brutal combat and "Shinichirō Watanabe Mode" with lo-fi music reminiscent of Samurai Champloo.
Ghost of Yotei launches October 2 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
