Former Bethesda Veteran Believes The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Be a “Normal” Game

In a new interview on the Kiwi Talkz YouTube channel, Kurt Kuhlmann — former Bethesda developer, lore expert, and lead designer on Skyrim — shared a few thoughts on The Elder Scrolls 6. According to him, fans shouldn’t expect anything particularly surprising when it comes to the game’s setting.
Kuhlmann, who worked on Morrowind, admitted he has a soft spot for the weirder corners of Tamriel — places with giant mushrooms and flying fleas — but doubts Todd Howard is interested in taking the series back in that direction.
I think Todd in particular gravitates not towards the weird stuff. I do. Like, Morrowind… Michael and I had done a lot of brainstorming on that, and obviously, it's got the Dune vibes, and the Dark Crystal vibes. I love that stuff. I would have definitely put more in [Oblivion] if I could have.
Because of that, Kuhlmann expects TES 6 to resemble a more traditional fantasy game, likely closer to Oblivion than Morrowind. He also said fans probably shouldn’t hold their breath for a Khajiit- or Argonian-centric game: “I would be skeptical that they could do a game in Elsweyr or Black Marsh.”
As a reminder, The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced seven years ago and still has no official release date.
