UGREEN Unveils World's First Power Banks with Qi 2.2 — The Newest Wireless Charging Standard

UGREEN has introduced the MagFlow series – magnetic power banks that are the first globally certified for the Qi 2.2 standard. This new tech offers wireless charging up to 25W, but its full benefits are limited to a small group of devices right now.

What Qi 2.2 Brings:

  • Higher Power: Wireless charging output jumps to 25W, up from 15W with Qi 2.0.
  • Better Heat Management: Improved temperature control reduces the risk of overheating for both your phone and the power bank.
  • Magnetic Alignment: Keeps the MagSafe-like snap-and-charge convenience, ensuring a secure attachment and optimal positioning for efficient power transfer.

Despite the impressive specs, only the iPhone 16 series can currently take full advantage of the 25W charging. These iPhones come equipped with the necessary magnets and native support for the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) required by Qi 2.2.

Most modern Android phones lack built-in MPP support. Exceptions are rare (like the HMD Skyline). Flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 can charge with MagFlow using special magnetic cases, but even then, they won't hit the full 25W. For other Qi-compatible devices without magnets, charging speeds will be lower still.

Wider Qi 2.2 support for Android devices is expected to roll out over the next few years. UGREEN's MagFlow series represents one of the first steps in this transition. The MagFlow power banks go on sale in Q3 2025 via UGREEN's official website and Amazon in the US, Europe, Southeast Asia, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. UGREEN also announced that other MagFlow products will follow later this year.
