Microsoft has announced a price drop for the upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds 2, reducing it from $80 to $70. Players who pre-ordered the game at the original price will be eligible for a refund of the difference.
Speculation is swirling that this decision may be linked to underwhelming pre-order numbers. As of this writing, the game is currently ranked at position 1063 on the Steam sales charts.
According to Microsoft, the $70 price point will be maintained for all of its first-party titles throughout 2025. This presumably includes the highly anticipated shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, slated for release this fall.
The Outer Worlds 2 is scheduled to launch on October 29th, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
