Vivo has shed some light on its debut mixed-reality headset, the vivo Vision. While still limited to a small group of testers, early feedback paints a picture of a significantly lighter device compared to major market players.
The key takeaway from first-hand accounts? Superior comfort. Though Vivo hasn’t revealed the exact weight, it hinted at comparisons with Apple’s AirPods Max (around 386g) — notably lighter than most rivals. This was achieved by powering the headset via an external battery pack, directly boosting comfort during extended use.
According to brief demo footage, the vivo Vision uses hand-tracking for controls, powered by multiple front-facing cameras. Also noteworthy: Vivo’s internal commitment to the project. A dedicated 500-strong team is developing the MR headset, signaling the company’s serious ambitions in this space.
The official launch of vivo Vision MR is expected by late 2025. Its focus on lightness and comfort could prove a key differentiator in the competitive mixed-reality headset market.
