Month-Long Battery Life: Pebble Announces Time 2 Smartwatch with E-Ink Display
Arkadiy Andrienko
Pebble is making a comeback with the upcoming release of its Time 2 smartwatch. The standout feature? A claimed battery life stretching up to a full month. The key to that endurance is a 1.5-inch color E-Ink display, known for its incredibly low power draw. The Time 2 sports a matte aluminum case paired with standard-size 22mm straps, and you control it using four physical buttons on the sides.
Beyond basic fitness tracking, the watch includes a heart rate monitor, step counter, and sleep tracking. On top of that, it packs a built-in microphone, speaker, vibration motor, and IPX8 water resistance – meaning you can safely wear it in the shower or rain. It runs on PebbleOS, the company's open-source operating system recently handed over to the community. Connectivity with both iOS and Android smartphones happens through Pebble's dedicated app.
According to preliminary info, the Pebble Time 2 is slated to hit the market this December. Expect a price tag around $225, also
Pebble plans a more affordable model, the Pebble 2 Duo, launching at $149.
