Valeriy Maksimov, a Russian developer from Nizhny Novgorod, has unleashed a trailer for his upcoming VR shooter, Xenolocus, heavily inspired by the Alien film franchise. The game now has a page up on Steam, so you can add it to your wishlist.

Xenolocus is a VR horror shooter with RPG elements. You play as a space marine tasked with protecting an alien base from monstrous creatures, uncovering the truth about military experiments, and unraveling the secrets of an ancient alien civilization. Explore diverse locations, battle gruesome monsters, gather resources, rescue survivors, level up your skills, and upgrade your arsenal. The shooter will feature a wide variety of weapons (pistols, assault rifles, flamethrowers, turrets, and more), dark and atmospheric environments designed to instill fear and tension, and epic boss battles that will test your skills.

Xenolocus is slated for release in Q3 2026 on Steam. Console versions have not been announced.

Speaking of Alien, the new series Alien: Earth from Noah Hawley (creator of Legion and Fargo) recently premiered on Hulu. The show has garnered high praise from critics, with scores of 85/100 on Metacritic and a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Previously, a former Magic: The Gathering artist showed off artwork featuring female versions of the Alien and Predator.
