Mafia 2, the beloved crime action title, just celebrated its 15th anniversary, and YouTuber Sora AI marked the occasion by releasing a stunning fan-made movie trailer. The trailer features iconic characters like Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro.

The trailer has already garnered plenty of positive reactions from fans:

"Mafia 2 is one of my all time favourite games. It's fantastic. I would love to see a full movie of it one day," — ToeTag9899.

"Almost crying because of nostalgia, how long ago it was..." — elihexer.

"Thanks man for reminding me of the old days," — ALIREZAGOROQI.

"PERFECT," — hmcallister8501.

"Incredible work!" — patmiller7045.

"Great video," — murano-546.

"I would pay my hard earned money to watch this in theaters," — visualfx.

"Bro I wish this movie was real," — tomaszignacok5167.

This arrives after the recent launch of Mafia: The Old Country on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The new installment in the series, set in early 20th-century Sicily, hasn't been a runaway hit, garnering a "Mixed" reception from fans and critics alike. Currently, it holds a 72% positive rating on Steam and a 74/100 score on OpenCritic. Developers have stated that a free content update, including a Free Ride mode, is coming soon.

We recently published a retrospective on Mafia 2, remembering what made it one of the best gangster games of all time. And before that, we highlighted some of the best early mods for Mafia: The Old Country.

It's surprising, but in the 15 years that have passed since the game's release, we have not seen a single worthy analogue. For example, L.A. Noire shifted the focus to detective investigations, and GTA 5 focused on robberies and online mode. Even the third part of the Mafia series and the recent The Old Country turned out to be completely different. If you are not indifferent to gangster themes, the second "Mafia" is a must-see. We recommend purchasing the remaster, which was released with the subtitle Definitive Edition
